Hand-Made Beadwork

My name is Cheyenne Kaiser-Conant, I am Dunne-Za on my mothers side from Prophet River in northern BC and Cree from Saskatchewan on my fathers. Currently I live and run my small business out of my home in Whitehorse, Yukon, while also attending the Yukon University for a degree in Indigenous Governance.

I was first introduced to beading by my Aunty when I was younger, though did not pick it up again until 2021. That year I participated in a workshop to make red dress pins for MMIWG. Since then I haven’t stopped. I grew my skills through various workshop opportunities in which I learned to make earrings, slippers, and mittens. I also learned many techniques and styles from one of my closest friends.

The name Busy Bee Bead n’ Sew was given to me by my Asuu Mary. She, along with multiple family and friends, have encouraged and helped me through my journey with beading.

Currently I specialize in making both flat and brick stitch earrings, keychains, pins, and slippers. I look forward to making unique pieces that anyone can enjoy, with a wide variety of colors to choose from.
